Shakti Peeth Darshan
Shakti Peethas are holy shrines dedicated to Goddess Sati (Shakti). According to legend, when Sati immolated herself at her father Daksha’s Yagna, Lord Shiva performed the Tandava carrying her body. Vishnu then used his Sudarshan Chakra to dismember her body to calm Shiva.The places where her body parts fell became Shakti Peethas, each sanctified by the presence of Shakti and Bhairava (Shiva).
