Mani Mahesh Darshan

6 Days

Overview

Manimahesh Darshan is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage to the glacial Manimahesh Lake, nestled at 13,000 feet beneath the towering Manimahesh Kailash peak in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district. Held annually during the Hindu month of Bhadon (August–September), this yatra draws thousands of devotees who trek 13 kilometers from Hadsar to the lake, braving steep ascents and icy streams in devotion to Lord Shiva. The shimmering lake, believed to mirror the divine peak, is considered second only to Mansarovar in sanctity. A naturally formed rock Shivling atop the peak is revered as Shiva’s manifestation, and the surrounding snowfield is known as Shiva’s Chaugan—his celestial playground. Pilgrims take a holy dip in the lake, believing it cleanses sins and grants spiritual merit. The journey, steeped in myth and mysticism, is both a physical challenge and a soul-stirring experience.
