Category: Maharashtra Shakti Peethas Darshan
Maharashtra is home to three and a half revered Shakti Peethas: Tulja Bhavani in Tuljapur, Mahalakshmi in Kolhapur, Renuka Devi in Mahur, and the half Peetha, Saptashrungi Devi near Nashik. Tulja Bhavani is the fierce guardian goddess worshipped by Shivaji Maharaj, while Mahalakshmi represents prosperity and divine grace. Renuka Devi is honored as the mother of Parashurama, embodying maternal strength and devotion. Saptashrungi, perched among seven peaks, is considered a partial Shakti Peetha where the goddess’s right arm is believed to have fallen.
