Madhya Pradesh is home to two revered Jyotirlingas—Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar—each offering a distinct spiritual experience. Omkareshwar, located on an island shaped like the sacred Om symbol in the Narmada River, symbolizes cosmic harmony and Shiva’s omnipresence. Mahakaleshwar, in Ujjain, is the only Jyotirlinga with a bhasma aarti performed using sacred ash, representing Shiva as the Lord of Time and Death. A darshan of both shrines connects devotees to the eternal rhythm of creation and dissolution.
