Category: Dham Yatra
The Dham Yatra in India is a sacred pilgrimage to four divine abodes—Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram—each representing a cardinal direction and a form of the Supreme. Initiated by Adi Shankaracharya, this journey is believed to cleanse sins and lead devotees toward moksha (liberation). The northern Badrinath honors Vishnu, the western Dwarka celebrates Krishna, the eastern Puri venerates Jagannath, and the southern Rameswaram sanctifies Shiva. There are four chota dham namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath together we call this as 4 Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand.
